Within the Health and Medical Care Administration, primary care, dental care, and hospital care are united under a single administration and organized into county and local healthcare areas. The Skellefteå local healthcare area includes the Emergency Department, the Medical and Geriatric Clinic, the Rehabilitation Center, the Psychiatric Clinic, 1177, the Center for Surgical Operations, as well as primary care in Skellefteå and Norsjö. Together, these units work to provide good and accessible care.

The health centers within primary care form our most important base for accessible care. Work in primary care is characterized by well-functioning teams of various professions focusing on good treatment of patients and relatives, high quality, and accessibility. Continuous improvement and job satisfaction are self-evident. This contributes to progress and success as we shape the primary care of the future together.

The specialty of general medicine is characterized by the meeting with the patient throughout their life. You will meet people of all ages, and as a resident physician (ST-läkare), you will learn under quality-assured supervision to independently assess and treat patients with a wide variety of diagnoses. You will follow patients over time and train in weighing the person's entire life situation.

Primary care is now seeking 3 resident physicians for positions at one of our health centers in the Skellefteå local healthcare area. We match your preferences for placement with available supervisors. Do you want to work close to the city or in a rural area? At a larger health center or at a smaller, more family-oriented one? In a small community or in the city center?

Placement opportunities exist within all three of our primary care areas:

• South Area: Anderstorp, Bureå, Burträsk, and Lövånger health centers.
• West Area: Erikslid, Heimdall, Boliden, and Norsjö health centers.
• North Area: Moröbacke, Ursviken, Kåge, and Byske health centers.

Interviews are conducted on a rolling basis.

Job Description

As a resident physician with us, you contribute to taking good care of others and helping people feel better.

Primary care is responsible for the population's need for basic medical treatment, nursing, preventive work, and rehabilitation that does not require the medical and technical resources of hospitals or other specialized competence, without distinction regarding diseases, age, or patient groups.

As a resident physician in general medicine, you will, in other words, meet patients with a wide variety of diagnoses in both planned and emergency clinics. Together with colleagues from various professions, you create good and accessible care for patients and their relatives. The meeting with patients occurs both physically and digitally.

In addition to the specialty-specific program, you as a resident physician also participate in the LEKA training. A program focused on leadership, economics, communication, administration, ethics, and time for personal reflection for resident physicians within Region Västerbotten.

Duty and/or on-call service is included in the position.

Qualifications

You have a Swedish medical license with eligibility to work in Swedish healthcare at the latest upon commencement of employment. Furthermore, we see that you have an interest in specializing in general medicine.

Good knowledge of the Swedish language at level C1 is required to perform the job. A B-class driver's license is a requirement for the resident position in primary care.

Consideration is given to personal suitability and teamwork skills.
