The municipality is now seeking a Business Development Manager who wants to help drive this development forward.

With its strategic location between Örebro, Västerås, and Eskilstuna, ample land availability, and a growing labor market, the municipality has strong prerequisites for continued growth. Here, the closeness of a small town is combined with big ambitions for the future.

In recent years, Arboga has strengthened its work in business development, establishment, place marketing, and regional collaboration. The business climate has developed positively, new collaborations have been established, and the municipality has taken an increasingly clear position on issues related to growth, competence supply, and future establishments.

As Business Development Manager, you will play a central role in the ongoing work. You will be responsible for issues related to business development, visitor industry, tourism, and place branding, while leading an engaged unit and working closely with the municipal management.

The role involves many contact points and a high degree of collaboration. You will meet local entrepreneurs, major employers, authorities, regional actors, and partners who all play important roles in Arboga's development. This is about building relationships, identifying opportunities, and turning ideas into concrete results.

An important part of the assignment is also representing Arboga in various collaboration forums and development initiatives. The municipality is an active participant in the Swedish Security Corridor, where municipalities, authorities, and businesses work together to strengthen development related to the defense industry and future competence supply.

You will lead a team of four employees who work together to create an attractive Arboga.

The Business Development Manager is part of the municipal management group and contributes to the development of the entire municipality. Therefore, the assignment is about more than just your own area of responsibility. It is about seeing the big picture, creating collaboration across organizational boundaries, and contributing to Arboga continuing to be a municipality where people and businesses want to invest their future.

• Lead and develop the municipality's work with NKI, Local Business Climate, and other value-creating analyses of business development.
• Lead and develop the municipality's participation in the Swedish Security Corridor and the strategic collaboration that takes place with the defense industry, defense authorities, and the municipality.
• Be an active part of the management group's work and contribute to the municipality's overall development.

Are you the one we are looking for?

To succeed in the role, we see that you have:

• An academic education in a relevant field or comparable experience
• Experience in business development and place development
• Experience in being a manager and leading others
• Ability to work in a complex organization with many contact points
• Experience in driving projects
• A holistic perspective and a desire to contribute to the organization's development
• Good communication skills and experience in building relationships
• Good knowledge of Swedish in speech and writing.

It is meritorious if you have experience from public operations, change management, or work in a management group.

You are curious, receptive, and have the ability to build trust, create relationships, and push issues forward.
