You will be employed by Professionals Nord and work as a consultant at AFRY for 12 months. The intention is that you will then be hired directly by AFRY, provided that all parties are satisfied with the collaboration.

This recruitment process is handled by Professionals Nord, and AFRY requests that all questions regarding the position be directed to [email protected] (mailto:[email protected]).

What we offer

At AFRY, you will work on exciting and socially important projects together with some of the industry's most experienced geotechnical engineers. Here you are offered a varied and dynamic daily life where no two days are alike – sometimes you spend the day at the office as a handling geotechnical engineer, sometimes in a laboratory environment, and sometimes you are out in the field.

You are offered:

  • A thorough introduction and close support from experienced colleagues.
  • In-house training, competence-developing activities, and good opportunities to develop and grow within AFRY.
  • A close-knit team with wonderful colleagues, close collaboration, and a culture where we support each other and have fun together.

Responsibilities

In this role, you will be the hub between the handling geotechnical engineers and the field personnel. You are offered a mixed role where you combine geotechnical handling with logistical work to facilitate and develop field operations. This role means you will have the opportunity to follow projects from the field to the final solution. You will work with geotechnical investigations and sampling in the field, while simultaneously analyzing results, documenting, and preparing materials at the office. Together with experienced colleagues, you will contribute to creating safe and sustainable solutions for everything from roads and railways to industrial and urban planning projects. The role offers a good combination of practical work and technical analysis, giving you a broad understanding of geotechnics and a strong foundation to develop further within AFRY.

Examples of tasks:

  • Participate in geotechnical field investigations and sampling.
  • Logistics planning, communication, and material handling.
  • Handle, analyze, and document collected data.
  • Contribute to the preparation of technical documentation and reports.
  • Contribute to developing sustainable and cost-effective solutions for customers.

The role is located at AFRY's field office in Gammelstad, Luleå. You work daytime, Monday to Friday, with a varied daily life that combines office work with the possibility of field work.

We are looking for you who:

Have a post-secondary education in geotechnics, urban planning, road and water, or another related area. You are at the beginning of your career and want to develop together with experienced colleagues in an environment where learning, collaboration, and knowledge exchange are in focus. Previous experience in geotechnics is not a requirement – AFRY gives you the right conditions to grow in the role and build a long-term career.

Requirements for the position:

  • Valid driver's license (Category B).
  • Good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written.
  • Post-secondary education in the field.

To thrive in the role, we see that you are an engaged and curious person, you are flexible, enjoy collaborating with others, and contribute a positive attitude to everyday life. Furthermore, you have a solution-oriented approach and enjoy taking on new challenges.
