Birkagården Special Housing is a dementia care facility with 39 apartments distributed across 5 units.

We have a beautiful garden with pleasant outdoor areas featuring flowers, berry bushes, and plantings.

Birkagården is centrally located in the city center of Söderköping, close to both the Stora River, the Göta Canal, and Brunnsparken.

At our facility, personal interaction is at the center. We work based on the Social Services Administration's core values, which include professional interaction.

Job Description

At our facility, you will assist our residents with practical help and provide support in daily situations based on the individual's specific needs. This applies to all common tasks such as personal care, social interaction, activities, meals, etc.

You will work based on implementation plans and interaction plans, and have close collaboration with other professional groups such as nurses, occupational therapists, and physiotherapists.

The role also includes performing health care tasks on delegation.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are trained as an assistant nurse (undersköterska) with a focus on dementia, nursing, or geriatric psychiatry. Additional courses in dementia/psychiatry or palliative care, for example through vocational education, are meritorious. As an assistant nurse, we consider it obvious that you should be able to treat people in a professional and respectful manner. Experience with the BPSD and Senior Alert methods is meritorious.

Good computer skills are required. Good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written, is a requirement.

As a person, you are sensitive, flexible, and have an easy time collaborating and finding solutions to the challenges you face. You should be interested in working with people and, together with the unit manager and your colleagues, create a climate where you work towards common goals. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
