Within the Care and Elderly Care Administration, full-time work is the norm. This means that all permanent employees are fundamentally employed full-time. More information about what this entails in this specific role will be provided during an interview. Personal assistants are exempt from the full-time norm.

We are currently seeking several care assistants or nursing assistants for our operations, covering both day and night shifts. Stenhaga Care and Elderly Care Residence is located five kilometers from central Uppsala. Stenhaga has 4 wards and 80 apartments. Half of our places are for nursing care, and half are for dementia care.

The care needs of our residents are around the clock. Therefore, we are currently recruiting staff for both day and night shifts. The position also includes working every other weekend.

Your responsibilities

In this role, you will primarily be responsible for the care of a specific resident and be an important part of creating security and continuity in daily life.

The work includes, among other things:

• personal care
• transfers and mobilization according to current routines
• documentation in accordance with laws and guidelines
• close collaboration with colleagues and other professional roles
• work based on a person-centered approach

The position is fixed-term for three months but may lead to an extension.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have experience working in care and elderly care. To succeed in the role, you need experience with tube feeding and feel confident in receiving delegated tasks from licensed personnel. We consider it an advantage if you are trained as a nursing assistant. Furthermore, you must be able to communicate fluently and independently in Swedish, both orally and in writing. This is a requirement to ensure patient safety and correct documentation in the work.

As a person, you take responsibility for your task and structure your approach yourself. You adapt easily to changed circumstances and see opportunities in changes. This allows you to quickly change your perspective and attitude. Furthermore, you have the ability to put yourself in someone else's perspective or situation without taking over the person's feelings.

Uppsala Municipality applies individual and differentiated salary setting according to the current collective agreement.

In your application, you must state your citizenship. Employment can only take place after verification of the work permit, as required by the Aliens Ordinance.

Employment with Uppsala Municipality may involve being placed on the war establishment (krigsplacering).
