We are now looking for staff for Home Care and Short-term Accommodation for the summer of 2026 – with the possibility to start working immediately.

Working in home care is a fun and varied job where you need to be flexible, able to adapt to the individual's needs, and take personal responsibility.

For employment as a nurse assistant (undersköterska), you must have adequate education and be able to provide certificates/diplomas.

If you are untrained, you can work as a care aide (vårdbiträde) for a limited time. During the time you try out the work, we hope your interest is sparked and that you want to study within the Care and Nursing program.

DUTIES

Sala Home Care consists of 9 home care teams, 2 day activities, and a night patrol. One home care group operates from Möklinta and one from Västerfärnebo. The remaining teams operate from Stadsträdgården in central Sala, the home care house. In the house, there are also coordinators, alarm assistants, and unit managers. Home Care has a service car and service bicycle used in the work.

In the work, you support recipients in their homes with personal care such as dressing and undressing, hygiene, help with meals, activities, accompaniment, etc. You must have the ability to receive delegation from a nurse, including regarding medication, to be able to work in home care. You will undergo training consisting of 2 hours of physical training and an online course to gain the prerequisites to handle delegation.

It is the individual need that determines which interventions are relevant and how often they are provided. All interventions are assessed based on the Social Services Act.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • You must be 18 years old at the time of employment.
  • You must have the ability to receive delegation from a nurse, which means you will administer medication or provide medical care.
  • You need to be able to speak, write, and understand Swedish as documentation and communication are important parts of the job.
  • You need to be able to use a computer, iPad, and iPhone.
  • Good physical condition.
  • We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

MERITS

  • High school education, Care and Nursing program, or Child and Youth program.
  • Care experience.
  • Language skills other than Swedish.
  • Competence in different methods/working styles, e.g., within dementia/AKK/MI, etc.
  • Driver's license B.

OTHER

  • The summer period is weeks 25–33.
  • We provide assistive devices and protective equipment, e.g., face masks and visors.
  • From July 1, 2023, the title "undersköterska" (nurse assistant) is protected. This means that as a nurse assistant, you need to apply for a certificate from the National Board of Health and Welfare and present it to the employer to use the title.

EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS

  • Fixed-term employment, hourly employment/summer substitute.
  • Working hours are scheduled for day, evening, and night. Possibility to work awake nights.
  • Employment is ongoing, and start dates are agreed upon.
