About the position

The working group handling social assistance consists of 10 employees. The work is coordinated by a Senior Social Secretary, who also provides support and guidance to colleagues in their daily work.

Responsibilities

As a Social Secretary in social assistance, you will work with two main assignments:

  • The individual's self-sufficiency: This includes, among other things, creating a plan together with the individual that leads to self-sufficiency.
  • The individual's financial support: This involves assessing and deciding on the right to financial assistance, as well as providing advice and support to the individual to prevent further complications.

Your duties include, among other things:

  • Investigate and assess the right to financial assistance using assessment tools, and handle appeals.
  • Map the individual's needs and match them with suitable interventions.
  • Create individual plans together with the individual.
  • Closely collaborate with colleagues in other units, as well as external partners, to design the best possible support for the individual. The section also includes the municipality's labor market unit, which is responsible for labor market measures and interventions based on the new activity requirement currently being introduced.

Qualifications

  • A degree in Social Work (Social Work) or another education deemed equivalent by the employer is required.
  • Experience in public administration within social services and good knowledge of relevant legislation are desirable.
  • Experience from other areas within individual and family care is an advantage.
  • The work requires you to work independently, make legally secure assessments, and handle varied cases.
  • You must be able to express yourself well in Swedish, both verbally and in writing.
  • A valid driver's license (Category B) is required.

Employment terms

  • Type of employment: Permanent position.
  • Duration: Permanent.
  • Start date: 2026-08-31 or according to agreement.
