About the role
We are currently seeking an interim manager for the Swedish Transport Administration (Sjöfartsverket) in Norrköping. The agency has a need for a consultant in the role of Deputy Manager for Operational Hydrography within the Business Area Hydrography, Production.

Operational Hydrography consists of 37 employees working onboard ships. In the role of Deputy Manager, you have personnel and work environment responsibility for approximately half of the employees, as well as the opportunity to lead the entire operation if needed. You plan and follow up on operations together with the Manager of Operational Hydrography and the Manager of Hydrography Administration. The role is part of the production group's management team, and you report to the Production Manager.

Key responsibilities:

• Conduct employee and salary interviews, and coach employees.
• Personnel planning for vessels in collaboration with the Manager of Operational Hydrography and the Manager of Hydrography Administration.
• Follow up on work environment rounds, risk analyses, and workplace meetings on board the ships.
• Drive recruitment processes together with the Manager of Operational Hydrography.
• Actively participate in the work of the Production Management team.
• Participate in the evaluation and development of the Deputy Manager for Operational Hydrography role.

Assignment period and scope
The position is a full-time consultancy assignment starting 2026-09-01 and is initially expected to last for approximately 6 months, with the possibility of extension. The total assignment period may amount to 12 months.

Please note that the agency conducts security-classified operations, which means the assignment cannot begin until background checks and registry checks for the final candidate have been completed and approved.

Requirements for the role:

• Documented relevant multi-year experience in leading a first-line group, with full result responsibility, operational responsibility, and work environment responsibility.
• Experience in leading remote staff.
• Availability for an interview via Skype on July 2nd, 08:00 - 10:00.

Qualifications that are meritorious:

• Experience as an interim manager for at least one (1) year.
• Experience leading staff in 24/7 operations.
• Experience in security-sensitive operations.
• Experience from maritime environments or sea-related work.
