Dance Teacher – Individual Choice, Arts Programme

Kalmarsunds Gymnasial Consortium is a municipal consortium responsible for providing and developing upper secondary education and municipal adult education for the member municipalities of Borgholm, Kalmar, Mönsterås, Mörbylånga, and Torsås. We have approximately 4,000 students and 600 employees distributed across our five schools.

Jenny Nyströmskolan is one of the upper secondary schools in Kalmarsunds Gymnasial Consortium, with just over 900 students spread across six national programs and three introductory programs. The school also includes an adapted upper secondary school. We are a forward-thinking school with an open climate that believes in both you as a teacher and our students.

Job Responsibilities

As a dance teacher within the individual choice section of the Arts Programme, you are responsible for teaching and guidance. The role includes, among other things:

• Planning, implementation, and evaluation of teaching.
• Teaching focused on technique, movement, choreography, and stage performance based on the curriculum and governing documents.
• Assessment and documentation of students' knowledge development.
• Collaboration with colleagues within the Arts Programme.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who:

• Has education in dance and preferably pedagogical experience.
• Has experience teaching in upper secondary school or other relevant activities.
• Is confident in the leadership role and has the ability to create a positive and creative learning environment.
• Has good collaboration skills and a professional approach.
• Is flexible and can adapt teaching to students' different needs and prerequisites.

Teacher certification with eligibility in dance is an advantage.

Employment Terms

• Salary: Monthly salary.
• Employment type: Fixed-term employment.
• Duration: Start date 2026-08-10 (by agreement), ending 2027-06-23.
• Working hours: Daytime.

A satisfactory extract from the Swedish Police Authority's record of criminal convictions for work in schools must be presented before an employment offer is made.

The position will be filled provided it does not need to be claimed by surplus personnel or that required political decisions are made.
