Job Responsibilities

The Project Section carries out various types of ground and civil engineering works – including new construction and maintenance, as well as relocation and repair works in existing environments such as streets, squares, parks, playgrounds, and other outdoor areas. Our assignments primarily come from the Property and Street Department as well as other administrations within Malmö Municipality.

As a Project Manager here, you play a key role in the execution phase. You are responsible for leading and driving production projects, with close ties to work crews, contractors, and daily operations in the field. The role involves a clear focus on implementation – from planning to completion – where you ensure that the work is carried out efficiently, safely, and with the right quality.

You plan, coordinate, and follow up on the work continuously, and are responsible for ensuring that projects are delivered according to budget, schedule, and set requirements.

Key responsibilities include among others:

  • leading and coordinating projects, including dialogue and collaboration with the client
  • working with project economics: budget, financial follow-up, forecasts, and cost control
  • preparing cost calculations/estimates based on the client's needs
  • keeping up to date with relevant regulations and governing documents, and ensuring compliance
  • performing and being responsible for the tasks of BAS-P (Project Safety Coordinator) and BAS-U (Workplace Safety Coordinator) within projects, and ensuring that safety work is planned, coordinated, and followed up according to current requirements
  • contributing to Kommunteknik's ongoing internal development work

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has:

  • relevant university education or other training deemed equivalent by the employer
  • at least five years of documented experience from the civil engineering/construction industry
  • experience in production, cost estimation, and project economics within civil engineering, as well as independently driving projects with documented results
  • experience working with AMA Anläggning, AB/ABT, Bas P/U, KMA standards
  • good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written
  • Category B driver's license for manual transmission vehicles
  • experience working administratively and good knowledge of the Office package

The following are considered merits:

  • project management education or equivalent
  • documented competence and experience in contract law
  • knowledge of LOU (Public Procurement Act)

You will have many contact points and continuous collaboration with various parties. It is natural for you to be a representative of the employer, and in this capacity, you have the ability to build good relationships. It is important that you can analyze situations, identify solutions, and see development opportunities in different scenarios. You are independent in your role but understand the value of working closely with your colleagues; you see synergies and the big picture. You understand the importance of open communication to promote not just your projects, but the entire operation.
