YOUR ROLE

As an assistant nurse, you work either in a care and housing facility or within home care services. Regardless of placement, you support individuals in their daily lives with both nursing care and practical help. This can range from personal hygiene and mobility assistance to creating a sense of security for the individual – around the clock.

You work with a rehabilitative approach, encouraging the individual's own abilities and contributing to a meaningful daily life. The role also includes documenting, planning, and coordinating interventions, as well as being a contact person for one or more individuals – which means you have a particularly important role in creating security and continuity based on the individual's needs. All of this takes place in close collaboration with colleagues and other resource persons – for here we work most of all for others, but also for each other.

YOUR COMPETENCE AND EXPERIENCE

You are trained as an assistant nurse and can demonstrate a protected professional title or equivalent according to current regulations. You have very good knowledge of Swedish – you can read and absorb information, document, and communicate clearly both orally and in writing based on the individual's needs.

It is important that you have sufficient physical prerequisites to handle the tasks involved in the job.

To thrive in the role, you need to be stable and confident in yourself – since you often meet individuals in vulnerable situations, it is crucial that you can convey calmness, build trust, and be a secure point in their daily lives.

It is an advantage if you have experience working in care and housing, especially with people who have cognitive diseases. Skellefteå Municipality is part of the Finnish and Sami administrative area. Language skills in Finnish and Sami, as well as cultural competence in these areas, are therefore meritorious. A B-class driver's license and/or the ability to cycle may be required at some workplaces.
