Skellefteå Buss provides bus transport services for Skellefteå Municipality, Länstrafiken i Västerbotten, and Region Västerbotten. We operate public transport in Skellefteå Municipality and also provide the hockey bus, airport bus, and school transport. We are proud to create greater accessibility, simplify daily life, create jobs, and offer fossil-free transport options in a growing community.

Skellefteå Buss is one of the larger public transport companies in northern Sweden, with approximately 280 employees. Our fleet consists of around 140 vehicles, which we are gradually updating to biogas or electric buses, with the goal of being completely fossil-free by 2030. The company is 100% owned by Skellefteå Stadshus AB, which is wholly owned by Skellefteå Municipality.

The Role of School Bus Driver

As a school bus driver, your main task is to provide high-quality service to school children and ensure they feel safe during the journey. In this role, you need to show special care for your passengers, who are children of all ages. Skellefteå Buss is responsible for ensuring that children receive school transport driven with respect and that they receive help when needed. The role also involves ensuring that students arrive at school on time.

This is a full-time position based in Byske. As a school bus driver, you work Monday to Friday during school terms. To fulfill a full-time schedule, you will also work every third weekend in local traffic. During school holidays, you drive other routes for Skellefteå Buss to free up staff for training, meetings, and other company activities.

Qualifications

We place great emphasis on personal suitability for the role of school bus driver. It is important that you have good communication skills, can handle stressful situations calmly and efficiently, and have a positive, service-oriented attitude. Your ability to create a sense of security and trust among both children and their parents is of great importance to us.

To work as a school bus driver, you must hold a Category D driving license and a valid YKB (Professional Competence Certificate). A certificate of good conduct (extract from the criminal record) is also required to drive school transport.

The position requires proficiency in Swedish, both spoken and written. Since the role of a school bus driver demands a high level of service, we are looking for someone with a friendly and professional demeanor, who is welcoming and helpful. You are punctual and able to work calmly and efficiently even in stressful situations.
