We are recruiting three nurses due to an increase in patient volume.

SUS Hospital at Home - Malmö, is operated by the Emergency Care and Internal Medicine department in collaboration with the Infectious Diseases department. This form of care means that patients who wish it and require acute specialist care can be offered care in their own homes.

Inspiration for this approach came from other countries where the "Hospital at home" concept has been used successfully. Studies show several positive effects for patients cared for at home, such as better eating and sleeping habits, increased activity levels, and a reduced risk of acute confusion or falls. Experience so far shows very high patient satisfaction and patient engagement.

Job Description

We are now looking for a nurse who wants to be part of further developing acute hospital care at home.

Instead of the patient being admitted to a hospital ward, we, as healthcare staff, will go to the patient's home to provide the care that is currently performed on inpatient wards. Patients can be monitored remotely via digital tools and can always quickly contact us at Hospital at Home and be admitted to the hospital if their condition requires it.

We strive for and continue to seek broad competence within the team, valuing this highly as our patients can come from all different units within the hospital, although most are treated for infections requiring antibiotics. We constantly strive to develop and actively work on which patients we can care for and how we can include and take care of as many patients as possible in the best way.

The position primarily involves independent work with patients in their homes, where we perform nursing treatments and assessments as well as medical treatments and assessments. We can handle much of the medical interventions that can be performed on a regular hospital ward. Our patients come directly from the emergency department, from hospital wards, and directly from primary care. It may also involve treatments at the hospital for our patients enrolled in Hospital at Home. Some digital work is also included, such as video rounds with patients and coordination of patients within the hospital.

You will be part of a competent team consisting of nurses, doctors, and rehabilitation staff, but the position involves independent work at the patients' homes. In addition to nursing assessments and interventions, you will also support the patient in understanding how digital tools work.

Working hours will be scheduled for day and evening shifts, both weekdays and weekends, with no night duty.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a registered nurse with the eligibility to work within Swedish healthcare. Proficiency in Swedish at a level corresponding to at least C1 according to the Council of Europe's scale is a requirement. You have previous experience working as a nurse, and for this position, it is a requirement that you have a valid driver's license (Category B).

It is meritorious if you have experience in any of the following: internal medicine, infectious disease care, inpatient care, municipal health and medical care. Since one of your main work tools will be digital aids, we view it positively if you are accustomed to working with these and can explain technical aids in a pedagogical manner.

As a person, you are secure in your professional role and have the ability to make decisions independently. You are someone who sees opportunities instead of obstacles. You are driven by new challenges, adapt quickly, and have an open mind for learning new things.
