Are you passionate about cooking from scratch? Do you enjoy working with children and want to contribute to the educational meal? Then you might be the one we are looking for!

We are now looking for an engaged and creative cook for one of our municipal preschools in Skärholmen. The position is linked to a preschool with approximately 85 children. Within Skärholmen's municipal preschools, we have an active network where the cooks jointly design common menus. Our goal is to serve delicious, nutritious, and sustainable meals every day.

The position is permanent and full-time.

Your role

As a cook, you are a key person in the operation and are responsible for the food prepared at the preschool. You cook from scratch and ensure that the food maintains high quality and is equal for all children. You prepare and serve breakfast, lunch, and snacks, place orders, follow up on the assortment in our systems, and have contact with suppliers. The work also includes washing dishes, cleaning, and maintaining the kitchen. You ensure that defect reports are carried out and take good care of the kitchen machinery.

As a cook with us, you upload the menus to the school platform and make the kitchen's work visible. You present new dishes and recipes to educators and guardians. You are also communicative and listen to the children's thoughts and opinions to improve the meals.

You collaborate with educators and the other cooks within the unit regarding the educational meal and contribute to a positive development of the meals, both within the unit and in the district. As a cook in a preschool, you are part of the operation and are expected to participate in workplace meetings as well as the cook network within the unit and the district.

In your position, you work based on set goals and guidelines, you follow the meal strategy and recommendations from the Swedish Food Agency, and you work sustainably to reduce food waste. You are responsible for the kitchen's budget and stay within its limits. You work according to a schedule adapted to the preschool's needs.

Your competence and experience

You are a trained cook at the upper secondary level, have good knowledge of HACCP, and food adapted for different groups. You have long experience in cooking, cooking from scratch, and good knowledge of nutrition as you are responsible for menu writing and nutritional calculation of the meals. You are responsible for and believe it is important to educate yourself and are happy to share your experience and knowledge with other cooks and kitchen assistants. You monitor the surroundings and keep yourself updated on developments and new research within food and meals in preschools.

You have good knowledge of working economically and environmentally consciously. The role also requires that you are structured, independent in your work, and have good collaboration skills. We place great emphasis on you being positive, flexible, and enjoying working in a team.

You use digital media as a communication tool without hindrance.
