About the job

As the head of the School Law Unit, you are responsible for supporting the agency in providing support to other parts of the organization regarding school law issues, primarily in the form of quality assurance of the agency's products from a school law perspective. The unit is also responsible for drafting regulations. The unit consists of lawyers and editors, with a total of fifteen employees.

You are responsible for the unit's budget, results, operational planning, and the unit's competence supply in the short and long term. Together with your employees, you develop operations so that the unit's tasks are carried out in the most appropriate and effective way, and you regularly follow up on results. Your duties also include representing the Swedish National Agency for Education externally and in the media for your area.

You are part of the management group in the Legal Department, where you, together with the Head of Legal and the other four unit heads, contribute to the development of the entire department and the Swedish National Agency for Education.

In this job, you should have

• A law degree (Jur. Cand. or equivalent)
• Current management experience, including personnel, budget, and operational responsibility
• Current, long-term, and solid experience and knowledge within school law
• Current, long-term, and solid experience working with regulations and general advice, as well as experience coordinating and leading projects related to these
• Experience handling both operational and strategic issues
• Several years of experience working in a public authority
• Good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish.

It is meritorious if you have experience leading school lawyers. It is also meritorious if you have experience with broad legal work in a public authority.
