In Trelleborg, we work together to build a growing, successful municipality where it is good to live. Our 61 villages and 21 city districts are creative meeting places bubbling with life. Here, we are ambitious, share our stories, and come as we are. This allows us to welcome others in the same generous and curious way.

Welcome to join the journey!

The Employment Administration works to promote the municipality's growth by creating conditions for residents to engage in lifelong learning and achieve self-sufficiency. We focus on skills supply and coordinated operational services for businesses, addressing complex societal challenges with innovative approaches. The administration consists of three departments: Employment, Quality and Coordination, and Campus Trelleborg, and employs approximately 100 dedicated staff members.

Since everything Trelleborg Municipality does is based on our core values of openness, respect, and responsibility, it is crucial that these values are just as clear to you as they are to us in our work.

The Workplace

Here, you will have the opportunity to make a difference for people and contribute to skills supply and growth. You are welcome to a newly formed unit and workplace, aimed at getting more municipal residents into work under the activity requirement introduced in the Social Services Act from July 1, 2026.

We are the workplace for you who are passionate about meeting people and want to make a difference. Through new methods and approaches, your competence, and your engagement, you will support municipal residents on their path to studies or employment.

As a supervisor, you will act as support and line manager for work-based placements at the municipality's departments – in this case, Technical Services in Trelleborg Municipality. Our applicants receiving social assistance will go out for work training/internships while simultaneously undertaking parallel measures to approach the labor market, with the goal of moving from benefits to employment.

Responsibilities

As a supervisor within the Technical Services operations, you play a central role in supporting, guiding, and managing participants at their work training/internship sites.

Your main responsibilities as a line manager include supervising individuals and groups, distributing tasks, and working on theoretical and practical competence-building measures for participants within parks and nature and/or waste management and recycling. You will be present daily at various workplaces within the municipality.

You will also collaborate with other actors within the municipality as you work together on the individual and their development. You will work closely with each individual, and your contribution will be crucial for the participants' success, becoming part of a dedicated team in the Employment Administration where collaboration, open dialogue, and support from various professions, such as employment secretaries and recruiters, are key to success.

The position is located within the Employment Administration, which is responsible for financial assistance and labor market initiatives in the municipality.

The supervisor's responsibility is both supervisory and managerial in daily work, focusing on supporting, guiding, and distributing tasks related to participants' work training. The managerial role is operational and limited to the practical work in the participants' work training operations. Formal personnel responsibility and overall management for permanent employees remain with the responsible manager in the respective operations.

Qualifications

To be considered for the position of supervisor in Technical Services, we are looking for you who have completed upper secondary education or other relevant education deemed useful by the employer. You have experience in tasks related to green space maintenance, park work, gardening, plant nurseries, waste management, recycling, or similar. You have also previously worked with supervising and/or managing others. Furthermore, you have very good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written.

You also have basic IT skills and experience with documentation. A B-driver's license for manual transmission is a requirement for the position.

It is meritorious if you have experience working with people in need of extra support, for example, due to mental health issues or functional variations, as well as experience working with people who are outside the labor market. We also look for a genuine commitment to supporting individuals towards studies or work, as well as a good ability to motivate and inspire others.

Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability. You are goal-oriented and have the ability to work towards set goals and deliver results. You contribute to good collaboration through openness and a professional attitude. We are looking for someone who is confident, calm, attentive, and accommodating in their interactions. You are meticulous, quality-conscious, stress-resistant, and focus on the right things. You also have the ability to lead and inspire people around you and have a genuine commitment to supporting municipal residents on their path to studies or employment.
