At the Cancer Centre, nearly 400 staff members provide care ranging from intensive cancer treatment to palliative care. Research and development are a crucial part of our operations and a prerequisite for continuing to develop cutting-edge healthcare. By adopting a patient-centered approach, we create added value for patients and their relatives. We have a well-developed teamwork culture among healthcare professions where everyone's competence is valued. It is the team as a whole that makes the big difference! On our ward, we have four teams with different specializations. Teams B and C focus on oncology. Team D focuses on hematology. Team E focuses on lymphoma and sarcoma. In total, we currently have 40 care beds distributed across all teams. Working at the Cancer Centre gives you the opportunity to combine technology with high-quality and safe care.

You will gain broad competence due to the wide variety of patients we treat in this highly specialized care setting. We encounter patients in situations ranging from acute emergencies to end-of-life care.

We have a very good work climate on the ward, and we are proud of the excellent collaboration between our different professional groups. With a patient-centered approach, we create added value for patients and their relatives. We offer working time model 1, modified 3–3, with reduced working hours, which allows time for recovery. You will work days, evenings, and weekends. There is also an option to work continuous night shifts.

We are currently looking for a Nursing Assistant for a permanent position at the Cancer Centre. We offer internal training, professional supervision, and mentorship to our employees.

Job Description

As a Nursing Assistant with us, you contribute knowledge and enthusiasm that makes people feel safe.

You will have a varied role. You will work closely with the patient in daily care, together with nurses and doctors, to identify risks, assess, address, and evaluate the patient's various care needs. This also includes blood sampling, checks, documentation, and having your own area of responsibility within the team.

We offer internal training in oncology/hematology for new employees. The training focuses on concrete practical moments relevant to our ward and the different aspects of care we provide. Since the Cancer Centre is part of a university hospital, you are expected to supervise students from various educational programs. We work with a holistic view of our patients, and their relatives are often present during the care period.

Qualifications

We are looking for you with a completed Nursing Assistant education. Since "Nursing Assistant" has been a protected title since July 1, 2023, you must provide a certificate from the National Board of Health and Welfare (Socialstyrelsen) after this date. Experience working as a Nursing Assistant on a medical ward is meritorious.

You are patient-focused and curious about both the patients and the workplace. Furthermore, you are positive towards change and actively contribute to a good work environment through your attitude.
