Your Responsibilities

As a Traffic Engineer with a focus on public space permits, you will be responsible for ensuring that the city's public space is used in an efficient and sustainable manner. You will also play a central role in the preparation and presentation of cases to the political bodies.

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Handling public space permits: Review and approve applications for the use of public space, in accordance with the Public Order Act and the city's conditions. Ensure that permits and measures are implemented in compliance with current legal requirements.
  • Conduct inspections and site visits: Perform inspections and site visits of implemented permits to ensure that measures and work comply with the granted permits and the city's requirements.
  • Follow up and manage permit decisions: Ensure that permits are followed up correctly and that any deviations are remedied in accordance with the Public Order Act and the city's conditions.
  • Preparation and presentation to politics: Contribute to the preparation of cases to be presented to the political bodies, actively participating in the presentation of these cases and ensuring that all information is correct and well-founded.
  • Networking and collaboration with internal and external actors: Build relationships with contractors, urban planners, property owners, and other relevant actors to coordinate and ensure a smooth process for public space permits.
  • Support the development of routines and processes for public space permits: Work on improving and optimizing working methods to streamline the handling of public space permits.

Qualifications

  • Good knowledge of the Public Order Act and experience in applying the city's conditions when handling public space permits and other relevant permits, as well as knowledge of the application of the Planning and Building Act (PBL) and the Traffic Ordinance.
  • At least 3 years of experience working with public space permits or similar areas, such as permit processing.
  • Experience in coordination and networking: You are accustomed to creating and maintaining relationships with various actors, such as contractors, urban planners, property owners, and authorities.
  • Ability to work independently and systematically: You are self-reliant and can handle your own cases while keeping track of several parallel projects.
  • Communication skills in both speech and writing in Swedish, and experience contacting various actors to ensure that all permit processing is carried out correctly.
  • Category B driver's license and experience working both in the office and in the field.

  • Knowledge of official documents and legislation in a municipality, especially regarding public space and permit processing.
  • Experience in handling transport dispensations and being able to apply rules regarding this to ensure that transports can be carried out according to current regulations.

The position is a permanent full-time employment. Probationary period may apply.
