The Role of Application Specialist

As an Application Specialist with us, you will become a key person in the work of developing and maintaining IT solutions that support operations throughout the region. You will have a varied and stimulating role in an engaged and competent team where your contribution makes a difference – both for employees and residents.

In the role, you will work closely with operations, project managers, technical specialists, and other stakeholders within the region's IT operations. Your responsibilities include requirements gathering, configuration, testing, troubleshooting, as well as ongoing maintenance and further development of our applications. You ensure that the systems meet the needs of the operations, are user-friendly, and function reliably.

You function as a key resource in the dialogue between operations and IT, where you contribute both technical competence and operational understanding with a focus on JLT. By working proactively with improvements and quality assurance, you help drive development forward. Your role is central in ensuring stable, efficient, and future-proof IT solutions in a dynamic organization by:

• Configuring and adapting platforms and standard components.
• Ensuring that technical and functional requirements are met on both the client and server side.
• Testing, documenting, and quality-assuring solutions.
• Working with incident management, problem-solving, ongoing improvements with associated documentation.
• Participating in the further development of the administration program's system environment.

You will be part of the RTS unit – Regional Development, Traffic and Support – which maintains and drives projects related to systems for, among others, Länstrafiken (County Transport), Operations & Service Regional Development (including Småland Music & Theatre and 4 schools).

Your Profile

You have a university degree or equivalent. You communicate clearly, collaborate smoothly, and have the ability to engage both customers and colleagues.
