Do you want to take the next step in your technical career? As a Train Technician at SJ, you have a unique opportunity to work on upgrading our X55 trains and then continue your journey with our new Zeta & Delta vehicles in a newly built workshop featuring state-of-the-art maintenance technology. You will become a key player in an initiative where modern maintenance for Sweden's most modern trains is developed.

Your upcoming role

Your employment begins with paid training to provide you with the right prerequisites for your new job, with the initial focus on the X55 upgrade. During this period, you will work on comfort renovations of our existing trains. You will contribute to the modernization of the X55 trains by extending their lifespan, increasing safety, and improving the interior customer experience.

In the coming years, you will have the opportunity to further develop within heavy maintenance of trains in traffic, where you will work with some of Sweden's most modern vehicles, once the X55 upgrade is complete. Your tasks will include technical maintenance according to established maintenance plans, involving both preventive and corrective maintenance. As a Train Technician, the work covers mechanics, electronics, and software. In addition to maintenance and repair, the role also involves driving trains during preparation and movement within the depot.

Expectations of the candidate

We are looking for you who have a strong interest in technology and a curiosity to learn new things. As a Train Technician, you have significant personal responsibility in close collaboration with your colleagues. You have the ability to prioritize tasks, structure your workday, and document deviations. Flexibility is important as the work is varied and contains many challenges. You have the opportunity to work according to a varied schedule and in shifts. You are computer literate and express yourself well in spoken and written Swedish.

We see that you have one of the following:

• Experience working as a Train Technician
• Experience in maintenance of trucks, passenger cars, or as an industrial electrician
• Alternatively, a completed Train Technician degree from a University College
• Previous work in a train depot with vehicle-related or technical tasks
