Team Leader for Mechanical Department – Fiskarhedens Trävaru AB

Fiskarhedens Trävaru AB is one of Sweden's largest and most modern privately owned sawmills. We are located just a stone's throw from the Vasaloppet start in Transtrand, right in the heart of Dalarna. With approximately 160 dedicated employees, we are the largest industrial company in the Malung-Sälen municipality.

Each year, we produce over 380,000 cubic meters of pine and spruce timber, with more than 80% exported to customers around the world. Sustainability permeates our entire operation – from forest to finished product. We hold both traceability and forestry certifications, and work long-term to ensure responsible and climate-smart production.

Job Description

Do you want to combine technical expertise with leadership in a central role within the industry?

We are now looking for an engaged and driven Team Leader for our mechanical department.

As Team Leader, you are responsible for planning, leading, and developing the daily work within the mechanical department. You have direct supervisory responsibility for the shift staff, which currently consists of approximately six employees, and you work to create a safe working environment with high quality and good efficiency.

In this role, you combine operational mechanical work with responsibility for planning, coordination, and leadership of daily operations. You work both practically and strategically with maintenance, troubleshooting, and continuous improvements within the mechanical operations.

You handle both acute situations in production as well as planned and short-term interventions, and actively contribute to developing working methods and routines.

The role involves close collaboration with the Operations Manager, who has overall responsibility for the area. You are a key person in the mechanical team and collaborate daily with other functions within the business.

The position is a full-time role with daytime hours, 40 hours per week.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have:

  • Upper secondary education with a focus on mechanics or equivalent experience
  • Previous experience in leadership or supervision within the industry
  • Experience in mechanical maintenance and troubleshooting in a production environment
  • Good ability to work in a structured, solution-oriented, and responsible manner
  • Valid driver's license (category B, manual transmission)
  • Good verbal and written communication skills in Swedish

Merits:

Employment Type: Permanent position.
