The Field Department at Åre Östersund Airport has excellent snow readiness and is one of the best in the world at snow clearing! Ahead of the upcoming winter season, we are now looking for Machine Operators who, together with our permanent staff, will work to ensure that planes can take off, land, and taxi safely at our airport.

What does the role involve?
As a winter season Machine Operator, you have a wide range of tasks. Your main responsibility is snow clearing of the airfield using various types of vehicles such as wheel loaders, dumpers, snow blowers, and trucks. You are also responsible for the maintenance of the vehicles.

The work is varied, just like the weather. During the snow-free season, the work focuses on cleaning, maintenance, and operation of the airport. The professional scope is broad, and there are opportunities to constantly learn new things as our fleet is large and contains several different types of modern machinery.

The position is a seasonal job running from October 12 to April 18. The work is full-time and involves shift work during evenings, weekends, and major holidays, and you will work approximately 7–12 shifts per month. The position may also include supplementary on-call duties. To be eligible for this position, you must live in the immediate vicinity of Östersund, with a maximum commute time of one hour.

Who are you?
We are looking for someone who has:

• Completed upper secondary education
• Driver's license with Category C entitlement
• Forklift license according to Tlp10
• Good driving experience with various work vehicles
• Good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written (for communication with colleagues and over the radio)
• Experience in machine operation jobs

Advantageous:

• Wheel loader training
