Qualified Special Needs Teacher for Grades F-5 Wanted!

Do you want to work in an international environment with a clear pedagogical vision?

International English School (IES) has made a significant difference for our students for 30 years. We are convinced that this is thanks to our clear ethos with engaged and present leaders, creating an environment where everyone works towards common goals. We have a strong culture built on proven routines. At IES, teachers can focus on teaching and learning. The students are at the center of everything we do; all students are your students.

At International English School, we are a team pulling in the same direction. To enjoy working with us, you should share our conviction regarding the importance of clear values, collegial learning, and common routines and approaches.

IES is proud of its employees and has developed a method to create a calm and secure school environment. This allows our teachers more time to share their knowledge, both with students and colleagues. Your own teaching takes place in Swedish, but between colleagues, we speak English/Swedish.

Job Description

We are now looking for a qualified special needs teacher for grades F-5 with a Swedish teaching license. The position is a permanent full-time employment with a start date in the autumn term of 2026. A probationary period of 6 months applies.

We are looking for someone who wants to make a difference for students in their lifelong learning. Our operations are characterized by a positive outlook and a strong belief in students' abilities. A strong value base and a positive view of students are very important to us. Together with your colleagues, you work to create a safe, structured, developmental, and stimulating learning environment for the students. You work in teams with teaching colleagues and support educators. Our mission is to jointly lead and support students in their social and academic development. In the team, educators help each other with planning, teaching, and the students' school day. Mentoring a class may be included in the role. The focus is on reading, writing, arithmetic, and mathematical development.

Who are you?

You have a Swedish special needs teacher degree and a Swedish teaching license for grades F-5. You have clear pedagogical insight and the ability to implement curriculum goals in your work. You have clear leadership skills and stand strong in your student groups. You are flexible, structured, and well-prepared. You are a present and action-researching educator who challenges and stimulates students to develop. A strong belief in collaboration as a success factor for pedagogical development is obvious to you. You have a direct and humble communication style with guardians and create trusting relationships with students, guardians, and colleagues.

You should be positive and cooperative and ready to join an international team.

In your role, you teach in Swedish, but between colleagues, we primarily speak English, but also Swedish. This means you need to master both languages fluently, both in speech and writing.
