Job Description
We are looking for a student employee who can evaluate the model for the Functional Support Administration's collaboration with civil society. The purpose of this collaboration is to increase participation and democracy in society. The purpose of the evaluation is to identify what works well in the model and what needs to be developed to improve participation for the administration's target groups and civil society.
For the past two years, the Functional Support Administration has worked more strategically on collaboration and participation with civil society, primarily with associations and organizations within the disability rights field. When the new working methods were launched, it was decided that the model would be evaluated after two years to see if it has worked and if it needs adjustment. The model includes several different forums for collaboration with associations.
These forums aim partly for a more rewarding dialogue between the associations and the administration regarding the services the administration is obliged to provide to the residents of Malmö. It also includes forums aimed at increasing the general public's knowledge about various disabilities and human rights related to them.
The evaluation will be conducted by interviewing association representatives and, if necessary, by developing and sending out a survey to reach more associations. Interviews should be held with the coordinators for civil society issues at the administration and potentially other key persons. You will also need to attend meetings in the administration's collaboration forums with civil society to get an understanding of how the work is carried out in practice. An example is the user council, which is a forum aimed at creating participation for civil society regarding the administration's work.
The evaluation will be compiled into a report showing what has worked and what needs to be adjusted moving forward. The report will be used to develop the administration's collaboration with civil society during 2027.
The report will be presented to a group of association representatives and responsible officials.
As a student employee in the City of Malmö, you will have the opportunity to practice your academic knowledge through assignments within our operations, parallel to your studies. We offer you relevant and qualified work experience, valuable contacts, as well as a salary. The working hours correspond to approximately 10–15 hours per week.
Qualifications
The Student Employee Program is aimed at you who have studied at least 60 higher education credits and are still studying throughout the entire assignment period.
There are several possible specializations that could be relevant for this assignment. We see that education in political science, human rights, public health, and strategic communication can be relevant. It is desirable that the student has an interest in or has studied collaboration, the public sector, or civil society.
It is meritorious if you have experience of voluntary engagement within association life and experience of collaboration with the public sector. It is also meritorious if you have competence or a willingness to learn about accessibility-adapted communication.
As a person, you find it easy to collaborate with others. This is important for the assignment as you will meet people in different roles and with different prerequisites for participating in the evaluation. You need to have good communication skills with different target groups and be good at formulating yourself in text.
It is important that you can take your own initiatives after dialogue with your supervisor. The supervisors will always be available but will encourage you to work independently.
To get a good final report, you need to have a structured working method and the ability to plan.
About the Workplace
You will become part of a small working group dealing with issues concerning collaboration between civil society and public administration, participation, disability rights, human rights, public health, and accessibility. Our goal is that during your time with us, you will learn new things and gain understanding and increased knowledge about collaboration processes, accessible communication, and disability rights.
