Description of our operations

In autumn 2023, our acute radiology operations moved to SkaS Skövde's new acute block, a new building spanning 40,000 square meters. Here, we co-locate a state-of-the-art emergency X-ray department equipped with the latest technology in computed tomography (CT) and conventional X-ray, as well as ultrasound, alongside the emergency department, ambulance intake, and ambulance helicopter landing site. This facility also includes a high-tech operating department with two hybrid suites equipped with interventional robots, as well as pre- and post-operative wards, a sterile technology unit, and an intensive care unit. The result is a modern emergency hospital with excellent conditions to handle increasing patient flows in the future. With larger spaces, there is ample room for new medical and technical equipment, which improves care and provides staff with a better working environment. As a nursing assistant here, you will work alternately at the new emergency X-ray department and the central X-ray department.

Imaging and Functional Medicine at Skaraborg Hospital consists of radiology, nuclear medicine, and the Intervention Centre (IVC). Operations are conducted at the hospitals in Skövde and Lidköping. Approximately 150,000 examinations are performed annually.

Within Radiology SkaS, we work within various modalities including advanced MRI, CT, ultrasound, and conventional radiological diagnostics, as well as advanced interventional diagnostics and treatment. In Skövde, operations run 24/7, while in Lidköping, operations run during days, evenings, and weekends.

The role of Nursing Assistant

As a nursing assistant here, you will work with varied and educational tasks within different modalities. You play a crucial role; for example, you help patients in and out of examinations, support patients during examinations if needed, or assist doctors during ultrasounds. We have a modern fleet of equipment across different modalities and a broad range of examinations, from conventional X-rays to more advanced procedures for both children and adults. Therefore, we can offer you great opportunities to develop your skills as a nursing assistant, which we value. As a nursing assistant here, you work day and evening shifts, including weekdays and weekends.

Qualifications

To work with us, you must be a trained nursing assistant. Experience in radiological operations is an advantage.
