Are you a school nurse who wants to contribute to ensuring that all students in our primary schools and adapted schools learn, develop, and feel well? We are looking for a substitute school nurse who can work with us during the autumn term of 2026. The position is primarily linked to a lower secondary school but also includes other central tasks within the medical component of student health services.

Job Description

As a school nurse in Upplands-Bro, you belong to the central student health service (Resource Unit), which consists of school nurses, school doctors, school and preschool psychologists, a central special educator, and is led by a unit manager. You are part of the school's student health team, led by the school principal.

You work primarily with health promotion and prevention, conducting health checks and vaccinations, and contributing the medical perspective to the school's student health work at the individual, group, and organizational levels. In the student health team, you collaborate with the principal, school counselor, special educator, and other professional competencies to create good conditions for students' learning, health, and development.

The work is based on the National Board of Health and Welfare's and the Swedish National Agency for Education's guidelines for student health, our management system, and method support. We place great emphasis on patient safety and quality work within the Resource Unit. As a substitute, you will have access to an experienced colleague who supports you in your work and your introduction to the municipality. You will also become part of our professional and helpful school nurse group, where experience sharing and joint competence development are a natural part of everyday life.

We are looking for someone who:

• Is a registered nurse.
• Has specialized education focused on children and youth, district nurse, and/or school nurse.
• Has experience working as a school nurse.
• Has education in audiometry and experience with back checks.
• Thrives in team environments and wants to contribute to a safe and inclusive school environment.
• Has good digital competence and experience with documentation.

Meritorious qualifications include:

• Experience working in the medical record system Prorenata.

About the Unit

The Central Student Health Service in Upplands-Bro is part of the Resource Unit, led by a unit manager, and works to ensure that all children and young people receive the support they need and are entitled to. The unit consists of school psychologists, school nurses, school doctors, and special educators. Together, we work across the municipality's nine primary schools, upper secondary school, adapted primary school, and adapted upper secondary school.

About the Position

Both positions are full-time and permanent. Probationary employment may apply. Start date is by agreement, preferably in August 2026.
