We are now looking for a psychologist for the eating disorders unit at Child and Adolescent Psychiatry!

Your workplace

Reception 5 is a specialist unit consisting of an eating disorders unit and an OCD team. At the eating disorders unit, children and adolescents with eating disorders as the primary diagnosis are assessed and treated. We are a small reception unit that works closely together. We work in a cross-professional manner, and the treatment team includes doctors, counselors, nurses, psychologists, and dietitians. We are now expanding our psychologist resource from two to three psychologists and developing the psychologist's role at the reception!

Child and Adolescent Psychiatry is the region's specialist resource for children and adolescents with moderate to severe mental illness. Together with other actors within the region, we have the task of offering equal, need-based, and cost-effective care for children, young people, and their families. Collaboration with families and other actors such as schools and social services is a large and important part of our work. It is a large workplace with approximately 200 employees with various professional backgrounds. We work in cross-professional teams and take joint responsibility for the patients belonging to the team. The patient is in a natural focus.

At Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, there is continuous development work to improve care for our patients, as well as opportunities for our staff to perform good work. At Reception 5, significant development work has taken place over the past year, and as a work group, we focus heavily on maintaining high-quality care and ensuring that we enjoy our work. By expanding our psychologist resource, we wish to continue improving care, and you will have an important role as our new employee. We are in a development phase where we are reviewing how neuropsychiatric issues can best be handled within the operations. Within the psychology group, you have the opportunity to influence your continued mission and work.

We are a health-promoting workplace that offers wellness hours, continuous method development and supervision, as well as internal training in the form of thematic hours.

Your tasks

We work with family-based treatment where the patient, together with their parents, receives support in becoming free from the eating disorder. We usually work in pairs, leveraging our different professions in the team. The treatment setup is individual and varies in intensity based on need. Our most intensive form of treatment is family day care, where we can offer meal support on weekdays through our eating support team. We also offer group therapy for relatives.

Your main tasks are to assess and treat children with eating disorders. This is primarily done through family treatment. A large part of the work consists of internal collaboration at Child and Adolescent Psychiatry as well as external collaboration with partners. The work consists largely of teamwork. Since many patients may have other illnesses and difficulties, support and treatment are also provided for issues such as depression, other anxiety disorders, or difficulties within neuropsychiatry.

The assignment also includes contributing education, supervision, and consultation to internal and external care partners.

Your knowledge and competencies

We are looking for you who are a licensed psychologist and have progressed somewhat in your professional practice. You do not need to have prior experience with eating disorder treatment; you will have the opportunity to develop this competence with us. The most important thing is that you feel secure in clinical work, have good clinical assessment skills, and are motivated by working with patients with complex issues.

The work involves meetings with patients who often have extensive and complex care needs. Therefore, we are looking for you who are interested in working with treatment, can handle difficult clinical situations, and enjoy working in close collaboration with other professions.

It is an advantage if you have experience working in psychiatry or specialist care. Knowledge of neuropsychiatric conditions and comorbidity is also an advantage, as is experience with neuropsychiatric assessments or other assessment work, as many of our patients have complex issues where these perspectives are important.

As a person, you are proactive, flexible, and have good collaboration skills. You have an empathetic ability, listen well, are receptive to the other party, and adapt to the situation. Furthermore, you have the ability to see the big picture and act with the best interests of the operation in mind. A B driver's license is required as travel may occur during work.

We place great emphasis on personal qualities and are looking for an employee who can complement our team!
