Let's introduce ourselves
The group Closure mechatronics has the responsibility to develop the mechatronic opening systems of the vehicle. That responsibility covers the technical solutions for latches, handles, window regulators, power-operated tailgates, fuel/charge modules, and tow hooks. This position offers the opportunity to shape mechatronic innovations while working in a supportive culture that values your contributions. Do you want to bring your knowledge and experience to our highly motivated team?
What you'll do
You will act as a mentor and use your experience to build and increase the knowledge in our group within mechanics, hardware electronics, and basic software. You will be our technical expert for latches and door opening systems. Our versatile group handles work across a wide range of tasks, so flexibility and collaboration skills are key to success.
You will support the development of new complex mechatronic systems and problem-solving in running production. You will commit to enhancing customer experience and product profitability by continuously improving part quality and identifying cost-saving opportunities. You will lead our certification work, and you will collaborate with the safety department regarding legal requirements and what testing is needed for the latches and handles.
You will be involved in the work with system safety, cyber security, and FMEAs. You will support the analysis of the DV/PV test results, and you will use diagnostics for fault tracing to understand mechatronic issues. To secure sustainable products with high quality, you will sustain design guidelines and ensure that the right design prerequisites are set.
What you'll bring
You are a curious and experienced mechatronic engineer with a proven track record of delivering impactful results. You have several years of product development experience within mechatronics, preferably in the automotive industry. You bring strong technical skills and a deep understanding of mechatronics, electronic hardware development, and software systems.
You excel in collaborative, inclusive environments and value transparent communication. Your curiosity and passion for learning drive you to continuously grow and improve. You’re highly organized and thrive in structured environments, with an ability to plan and manage complex deliveries effectively.
As we are a truly international team, you have excellent English skills, being fluent both verbally and in writing. Knowledge and experience in Volvo systems and product development is meritorious, and we believe you are the holder of a driving license “B”.
On a personal level
You work proactively, addressing the risks and solving issues before they arise. You are solution-oriented and ensure ownership. You enjoy continuously developing, learning new things, and being challenged in your daily work. Those are also the qualities that will make you successful in this role.
You can manage ambiguity, and you find it exciting to work in a development environment with a high rate of change and complexity of problems to be solved. You are unpretentious and ready to pick up a wide range of tasks and challenges from quality to concept phase. You value differences and consider different perspectives.
