About the Job

Lidköping is in an expansion phase with several major infrastructure projects and large reinvestments, leading to an increased need for operation and maintenance of the water and sewage (VA) network. You will become part of the Water & Sewage business area, a wonderful team with a forward-looking spirit and solid experience within VA and technical supply systems. Water & Sewage currently consists of approximately 40 employees and is led by a Business Area Manager for Water & Sewage and two subordinate Unit Managers: one for the Water Treatment Plant and one for the Pipe Network. Together, we are responsible for the operation and maintenance of Lidköping's water works, treatment plants, pipe networks, pump stations, pressure boosting stations, and the development of our VA infrastructure.

Responsibilities

As a GIS Technician within VA, you work to ensure the quality of our geographic data related to pipe networks and facilities. You are a key part of creating the right decision support for operations, planning, and development.

Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Updating and quality-assuring GIS data for VA pipe networks
• Handling surveying and relationship documentation
• Collaborating with project managers, operational staff, and contractors
• Participating in the development of digital working methods and systems
• Producing map materials and supporting documents for the business

Who are you?

You have an education in GIS, geodata, or equivalent experience assessed by the employer as equivalent. You have experience within VA with good knowledge, awareness, and understanding of VA systems or technical infrastructure. You also have good knowledge regarding safety work around mapping tools.

As a person, you are driven, energetic, and have a great interest in your technical field. You enjoy working towards set goals and deadlines. You have a natural aptitude for planning, structuring, and organizing your own work.

The job requires good collaboration and communication skills, and working both independently and in a team is second nature to you. You have good communication skills in both speech and writing, as well as a professional demeanor. You thrive in a fast-paced environment characterized by strong growth.

Since much of our documentation is in Swedish, it is a requirement that you master Swedish well in both speech and writing. Our internal and external contacts are based on collaboration and good relationships, which is why we place great importance on your personal qualities.
