About the workplace

In the city, the Social Services Department is responsible for individual and family care. Our mission is to enable residents to become independent in life so that they can take an active part in society. We are undergoing an exciting transition towards the social services of the future. We have high ambitions. But to succeed, we need you.

The Social Services Department has recently undergone an organizational change focused on creating a more accessible social service based on three main areas: Authority, Interventions and service, and Housing.

Psychiatric social work belongs to the Housing business area and targets adults with long-term psychiatric disabilities as well as substance abuse and/or psychosocial difficulties. The operation provides supported housing in accordance with the Social Services Act for persons with long-term psychiatric disabilities.

We are now looking for dedicated colleagues for our housing facility, Plutogatan BSS.

Plutogatan BSS is a supported housing facility for people with psychiatric disabilities. The operation covers approximately 30 places and offers individually adapted support. The work group currently consists of 15 employees, five of whom work nights. To further strengthen the quality of our work and create even better conditions for our clients, we are now expanding the staffing in the operation with a part-time position of 60%. During the period 1/9-31/12, we will expand the staffing with a full-time position of 100% to be able to evaluate the actual staffing needs.

Job responsibilities

The role of support assistant includes being a social, pedagogical, and practical support for our residents. The work aims to contribute to increased quality of life and security through individually adapted support and service. The Social Services Department works based on the "Signs of Safety" approach, which permeates the entire department's work and means a respectful, solution-focused, and strength-based approach where the individual's participation is central.

The operation works based on the method "An Independent Life" (ESL), with the goal of giving our users good conditions to live as independent a life as possible and to be able to participate in society's welfare on equal terms.

The duties include social support, activation, as well as motivational and change work. The role also includes basic interventions such as support with cleaning and laundry, personal hygiene, as well as diet and meal planning. Together with the residents, you work towards set goals and participate in motivational activities, such as physical training, library visits, and travel training with public transport.

Healthcare interventions occur in collaboration with a nurse and are performed according to delegation. Therefore, it is a requirement that you perform delegated healthcare tasks in a responsible and quality-assured manner.

In the role of support assistant, you are the case worker's extended arm in the implementation of decided interventions. This means that you document events in the daily operations and follow up and report back on the intervention in consultation with the responsible case worker.

The work is scheduled during the day, evening, and night. Solo work may occur.
