Miljösamverkan Östra Skaraborg is a municipal association responsible for, among other things, food control and environmental code supervision in our member municipalities: Essunga, Falköping, Hjo, Karlsborg, Skövde, and Tibro. We have taken over the supervision of most permit-required activities within the scope of the Environmental Code from the County Administrative Board.

Job Description

Miljösamverkan Östra Skaraborg is now looking for an environmental inspector to work with permit-required activities.

As an environmental inspector, you are part of a team that works with supervision, review, and information within the scope of the Environmental Code. You will work with supervision of environmentally hazardous activities, but other tasks within our area of work may also become relevant. The primary focus is that you will work with permit-required environmentally hazardous activities, but depending on your experience, the focus may be different. The work includes planned controls, as well as processing incoming cases.

With us, you will have a varied and enjoyable job where you mix administrative authority work, field work, and customer contact.

You will plan your own supervision, conduct inspections, write reports and decisions, and follow up that deviations are remedied. An exciting development work to digitize the processing within our operations is ongoing.

The supervision is carried out in project form based on focus areas. The self-organizing teams are given great freedom to set up their planning, follow-up, and improvement work. Our working method is successful and provides good conditions for great engagement and personal development.

Qualifications

We are looking for you with a relevant university education, for example, specialization as an environmental and health inspector, environmental science, and/or work experience that we assess as equivalent and suitable.

Experience from supervisory work on permit-required environmentally disturbing activities is particularly meritorious. Experience of exercising authority through supervision/control in the field as well as good knowledge of current environmental legislation is also meritorious.

Good computer skills are a prerequisite, as is the ability to express yourself well in both speech and writing in Swedish.

Professional experience from working with sewage treatment plants and quarry operations is meritorious.

You are a team player who finds it easy to collaborate and contribute to the team's development. You are initiative-taking, result-oriented, and development-oriented with a good overall perspective.

You are stable and secure in yourself and can distinguish between the personal and your professional role. You are comfortable with sometimes making difficult/uncomfortable decisions.

Since the role requires many contacts, we place great value on your communicative skills, and good treatment is a given.

A category B driver's license for a car with a manual transmission is a requirement.
