About the job

We at Service are looking for one or more driven chefs for Vänerköket, our production kitchen, where we prepare approximately 13,500 portions per week. Of these, approximately 1,500 are produced in our diet department.

Responsibilities

Your workday starts with a morning meeting together with all the staff at Vänerköket. You will review the day's and week's events and coordinate to ensure everyone is synchronized in the various work tasks. You are an integral part of the large production chain.

You will work in a team with several colleagues and perform tasks such as food preparation and other common duties in a large kitchen, such as dishwashing and cleaning. You will assist the kitchen managers and your other colleagues, as many tasks go hand in hand and good collaboration is a fundamental prerequisite.

As we are in the process of implementing a new diet data system (Matilda), it is important that you, as a chef, find it interesting that your work in the kitchen is documented. Recipes and production materials should be easily accessible and constantly updated. Please describe in your application how you can contribute to this.

Our large municipal production kitchen offers a unique working environment where the work is characterized by large-scale food production, clear processes, and a common focus on quality, development, and social benefit – rather than traditional restaurant operations.

Who are you?

We are looking for a chef with a three-year upper secondary education in large-scale cooking and chef profession, or equivalent. You have experience from previous work in large-scale kitchens or restaurants and have extensive experience in cooking. You have very good knowledge of food safety, and we would like you to have a natural approach to working in a climate-smart and sustainable manner. If you have also worked with any type of diet data system previously, we consider this an advantage.

Experience with various special diets, vegetarian and vegan food, chilled meal production, and experience with diet data programs are meritorious.

You must be proficient in Swedish, both spoken and written. We expect you to be computer literate. A B-class driver's license is desirable.

Collaboration, flexibility, and independence come naturally to you. We would like you to be creative, take initiative, be open to new ideas, and want to help develop our Meal Unit in line with the municipality's goal of being a welcoming and sustainable community.
