Individual and Family Services

Individual and Family Services is a department consisting of three units: Children and Family, Adults, and Administration, with a total of 20 employees. The department is led by a Department Manager. In both the Adult Unit and the Children and Family Unit, there are social secretaries exercising authority, as well as staff working with outpatient care in various forms such as treatment, family support, interventions for children, and family therapy. We are a small municipality and a small social services office where we collaborate and help each other with tasks as needed.

We are now looking for a social secretary in the Children and Family Unit to work with family law and foster care.

 

Job Description

As a foster care social secretary, your responsibilities include recruiting, investigating, supervising, and following up on foster homes, contact families, and contact persons. Matching an intervention to a child's needs is a central part of the role.

The Family Law unit's task is to support children and parents in family law matters based on the best interests of the child, in accordance with the Parent Code and the Social Services Act. The responsibilities of a family law social secretary include investigating issues regarding custody, residence, and access on behalf of the district court, as well as handling cases concerning paternity/parenthood. Duties also include investigating adoption, transfer of custody, and the possibility for parents to enter into agreements. Part of the work involves providing advisory support in family law matters.

Other duties may occur, and the content and conditions of the work may change over time.

 

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have:

  • A degree in social work (socionom) or another higher education qualification assessed as equivalent by the employer.
  • A valid B-class driver's license.
  • Good proficiency in Swedish, both spoken and written.

Experience in exercising authority and knowledge of current legislation are meritorious.
