Do you want to work with tasks that create participation for people in need of sign language/deaf-blind interpretation in Jämtland/Härjedalen?
The Interpretation Centre for the Deaf, Deaf-Blind, and People with Hearing Impairment is organized as a unit and, together with the ENT, Hearing Care, and Speech Therapy units, we form part of the Surgery area.
We are now looking for a sign language interpreter for a temporary position located at the Interpretation Centre in Östersund. The Interpretation Centre's mission is to enable people with deafness, deaf-blindness, and hearing impairment to communicate, in accordance with our mission described in the Health and Medical Services Act.
We offer interpretation services to people who are deaf, deaf-blind, have hearing impairments, or late-deafened. Interpretation takes place in many different everyday situations, such as healthcare visits, workplace meetings, contact with authorities, family matters, and leisure activities.

Job Responsibilities
Standard tasks where you independently perform interpretation assignments through preparation, interpretation, and follow-up work. You also participate in the development of the operations by taking part in various improvement projects. Working hours are mainly daytime Monday-Friday, but some evening and weekend work may occur with a flexible schedule.
As a sign language/deaf-blind interpreter with us, you contribute knowledge and engagement that makes people feel safe.

Travel within the county occurs, which is why we assume you have a B driver's license.
Qualifications
We are looking for you who have approved education as a sign language and deaf-blind interpreter.
We place great emphasis on personal suitability, good treatment, good cooperation skills, sensitivity, independence, and flexibility. It is also required that you are reflective and can see others' needs and take them into account, give others space, and have the ability to share knowledge. Since you are often alone on interpretation assignments, you need to have the ability to make your own decisions and assess what is the best solution in different situations.
We view positively if you have an interest in IT and knowledge or practical experience in performing digital interpretation. It is a great advantage if you have very good computer skills and master the programs in the Office package well.
