We are looking for

We are looking for you who are a registered nurse with good knowledge of the Swedish language, at least at level C1. We also expect you to have good computer skills.

Preference is given to candidates with specialist training in medicine, geriatrics, or other further education focused on elderly care. Knowledge of Finnish and English is an advantage, as it facilitates communication with patients and relatives. We also value experience from working in a medical ward, rural health centre, or municipal home care, where you have developed a good ability to work independently and handle varying care needs.

What you will work with

On the emergency department, we have six care beds, and there you work in a team with a nursing assistant or a nurse.

In the role of nurse on the care ward, you are responsible for leading and distributing the work regarding patient care. Together with the rest of the staff, you have overall responsibility for the planning, implementation, follow-up, and documentation of both nursing interventions and medical treatment. The work includes standard nursing tasks such as medication administration, sample collection, nursing care, as well as documentation and care planning.

As a nurse on the care ward, you have a central and dynamic role where you are responsible for receiving patients who need care and treatment during on-call hours. You work closely together with doctors from Kalix Hospital, with support via phone and digital contact channels, which gives you an important and independent role in the patient flow.

We collaborate with Övertorneå Municipality's health and medical care unit, which means that during some shifts you may be responsible for the municipality's on-call activities.

Information about the position

We offer a temporary full-time position during the period 2026-08-01 to 2027-08-31, with the possibility of permanent employment. Working hours are three shifts: day, evening, night. Start date 2026-08-01 or as agreed.

Selection and interviews are conducted continuously, and the position may be filled before the last application date.
