TEACHING POSITION IN SHIP TECHNOLOGY, NAVAL WARFARE SCHOOL

The Ship Technology Department provides technical education in machinery, electrical systems, and workshop technology for future engineers and motor personnel for the Navy's vessels. The department also collaborates with Linnaeus University and Blekinge Institute of Technology, where their engineering students come to us for training in machinery and workshop technology.
You will work in a cohesive team of approximately 17 people, consisting of women and men, military personnel and civilians of varying ages. The position is primarily based in Karlskrona, daytime hours 07:30–16:30 with flexible working hours agreement.
There are good opportunities for further education both within your specialty and in other activities within the department, allowing you to develop professionally.
Main Responsibilities
Your main tasks will include:
- Teaching theoretically and practically in ship technology, for example, engine theory, ship auxiliary systems, and electrical technology.
- Conducting planning, follow-up, and revision of courses and operations.
- Participating in the development of education within the department.
Qualifications
- Completed and approved officer-specialist officer education with a technical focus.
- Category B driver's license.
- Experience in the field that the employer deems relevant.
Meritorious Competencies
- Military machinery qualification M5 or higher.
- Previous experience in education within ship technology.

More About the Employment
The position is a permanent military appointment at 100% with a 40-hour work week.

Salary: Individual salary setting applies
Travel may be required in the position.
The Swedish Armed Forces apply a six-month probation period for those not already employed by the agency.

The Naval Warfare School (SSS) educates officers, specialist officers, sailors, and soldiers at all levels. SSS also conducts studies, trials, and command training for ship crews, as well as tactics and technology development within the maritime area. SSS is also responsible for Diving and Naval Medicine in the Swedish Armed Forces. SSS is primarily based in Karlskrona in Blekinge but also has a unit in Berga outside Stockholm specialized in amphibious warfare.
