About the Role

The Department of Surgery at Sundsvall Hospital, with its 15 operating rooms, is one of Sweden's most modern surgical departments. The department features operating rooms with associated preparation rooms and a sterile supply department. The department also has a hybrid operating room. We are a county hospital with 24/7 operations and specialize in orthopedics, surgery, ENT (Ear, Nose, and Throat), maxillofacial surgery, and urology. Currently, we have a total of 78 positions consisting of nursing assistants, operating room nurses, and anesthesia nurses.

We are now looking for two anesthesia nurses for the Department of Surgery in Sundsvall. The positions are permanent full-time roles with a start date to be agreed upon.

Responsibilities

• As an anesthesia nurse, you are responsible for inducing anesthesia, maintaining anesthesia, and waking up patients undergoing surgery, based on orders from the anesthesiologist.
• You work in close collaboration with the anesthesiologist and operate as part of a team in the operating room together with an operating room nurse and a nursing assistant.
• You must be able to quickly switch between planned activities and acute situations that may arise.
• On-call duties and transport readiness will be included in the role in the future.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who:

• Is a registered nurse with further education as an anesthesia nurse.
• Has good knowledge of Swedish in both speech and writing.

It is meritorious if you:

• Have good knowledge of English in both speech and writing.
