We are looking for you who are passionate about high healthcare quality and patient safety and who thrive in a team environment.

The National Highly Specialized Care (NHV) for Self-Harm offers specialized interventions for adult patients from across the country. The unit treats patients with complex self-harm issues regardless of other diagnoses, although comorbidities such as ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorders, and PTSD are common. The staff consists of doctors, psychotherapists, psychologists, nurses, assistant nurses, social workers, and assistants. The working method is team-based, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a central part of the methodology. All staff receive both training and supervision in the method. Other tasks included in the unit's mission are to function as a knowledge center and provide supervision, education, and conduct research.

NHV Self-Harm Adult consists of a day care unit and inpatient beds on a 24-hour ward at Danderyd Hospital. Staff from the inpatient care and day care share the same unit manager to promote close collaboration.

We are now looking for a substitute resident physician for our excellent day care unit.

As a resident physician, you will be part of our DBT team and work in close collaboration with other healthcare staff. Together with the unit manager and the Medical Director (MLA), you will work based on current evidence and in line with Region Stockholm's care processes.

Responsibilities

The position includes standard duties for a resident physician within psychiatric specialist care, including:

Medical assessments and follow-ups, participation in team conferences, rounds, and treatment planning. Collaboration with patients, relatives, and referring parties. Documentation and medical record keeping, as well as working in close collaboration with other professions within the DBT team.

You will be supervised by the Medical Responsible Physician at the day care unit.

Qualifications

Licensed physician, with a strong interest in psychiatric care and good clinical judgment. Great importance is placed on good teamwork skills and personal suitability. Experience working as a physician within psychiatry is meritorious.

Conditions

1-year temporary position. Full-time 40 hours/week. Working hours 8:00-16:30 on weekdays.

In patient-facing work within the Stockholm County Healthcare Services (SLSO):

- A register check is applied before a decision on employment is made according to SLSO's overarching guidelines for register checks upon employment.

- Employees who will have patient contact must undergo a pre-employment health examination, according to current directives, which is conducted through occupational health services before employment.

- In addition to Swedish professional licensure, good knowledge of the Swedish language corresponding to level C1 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) is required. The same requirements apply as guidelines for non-licensed staff with patient contact.
