Are you looking for a flexible, relationship-building, and responsible job? Then keep reading, as the Staffing Units in Elderly Care and the Health and Care Administration are looking for new hourly substitute staff for our units!
The Elderly Care and Health and Care Administration has four staffing units responsible for different geographical areas: Centrum, Hisingen, Nordost, and Sydväst. As an hourly substitute at one of our staffing units, you will have the opportunity to work with some flexibility and variation in both short-term and long-term assignments. Centrum, Nordost, and Sydväst offer hourly substitutes within care and nursing homes, short-term care, home help services, and night and alarm units. Hisingen offers hourly substitutes within home help services.
Job Responsibilities
Your task involves helping with everything the elderly person cannot manage themselves in daily life. For us, it is important to have a good and respectful attitude, where we work together to give the elderly person a meaningful life.
We offer you a job where you contribute to the well-being and joy of life of the elderly. Working in elderly care means providing good nursing and social care to the elderly. Your work includes, among other things, practical help with personal hygiene and care, support during meals and activities, laundry, and cleaning. You also perform health and medical tasks after instruction and delegation from a nurse.
You choose yourself which days you want to be available for work by entering it into our booking system. You are then booked for work shifts based on the needs of the operations. We are looking for you who want a developmental side job where you get the opportunity to make a difference!
Qualifications
To work with us, you need relevant experience and/or education within care and nursing. You enjoy working with people and put the individual in focus. To work with us, you must be 18 years old in accordance with the Swedish Work Environment Authority's regulation on the working environment of minors (AFS 2023:2, chap. 8).
As an hourly substitute with us, it is important that you take initiative and can work independently. You are flexible with your working hours and in your work. You cannot have more than one active employment in the City of Gothenburg at a time. Note that working as an hourly substitute with us presupposes that you do not have another employment exceeding 50%.
You show respect and consideration for those you meet in your professional role and proceed from the equal value of all. You have an open and positive attitude as you have the care recipient's needs as the starting point for your actions. You find it easy to work together with others and take responsibility for your and the joint tasks with the care recipient's best interest in focus.
To carry out the work in an efficient and safe manner with a focus on the individual's needs and wishes, it is required that you have good knowledge of the Swedish language in both speech and writing. We would like you to present grades in Swedish. The work involves documentation. To work within home help services, it is required in several units that you have a driver's license and driving experience and/or cycling experience. If you can sign language, please write it in your application.
To ensure high quality in our care and nursing, we would like you, if you do not have care education, to have the necessary prerequisites so that you can further educate yourself to become a nursing assistant or auxiliary nurse through adult education. We will prioritize candidates who have the prerequisites required.
Before an employment offer, the candidate must by law show an extract from the police's criminal record register together with a valid identity document. Order the extract yourself (via Kivra, alternatively by post) from the police's website here: Work in the home with elderly and persons with disabilities, e-service | The Swedish Police Authority (https://polisen.se/tjanster-och-att-gora-saker/arbeta-i-hemmet-med-aldre-och-personer-med-funktionsnedsattning/).
