The Department of Epidemiology and Global Health is an international, interdisciplinary research and education environment within Umeå University's Faculty of Medicine. We are approximately 100 people from around the world working at the department, with a common goal to contribute to equity and sustainable improvement in health and welfare globally.

Description

The META project is funded by EDCTP3 and aims, among other things, to estimate the costs incurred by the healthcare system when using metformin (compared to placebo) in people living with HIV and prediabetes. These costs will be related to the number of diabetes cases that can be prevented and to quality of life. Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

• Be responsible for collecting, compiling, and analyzing cost data within the META project in close collaboration with the project's international partners.
• Contribute to literature reviews and assist in grant applications related to health systems research in low- and middle-income countries.
• Prepare for and participate in seminar activities at the department.

The work involves both independent tasks and collaboration in interdisciplinary research environments.

Qualifications

• A PhD in a relevant field.
• Very good knowledge of and documented experience in health systems research in low- and middle-income countries.
• Ability to work independently and drive processes forward.
• Knowledge and skills in document analysis as well as quantitative and qualitative research methods.

Additional Merits

• Experience working in interdisciplinary research projects.
• Very good communication skills, both oral and written.
• Proficiency in working with Excel.
• Ability to visualize and present data clearly and pedagogically.

Conditions

The position is part-time at 45% and fixed-term until 2026-12-31.
