As a Manufacturing Data Specialist, you will take on a central role where you ensure that production data is correct, accessible, and creates value. You will work closely with production and IT, bridging the factory floor with data platforms and analytical solutions, and contributing to improvements and a more data-driven production.
OSTP Group is one of the world's leading manufacturers of welded stainless steel pipes and fittings, with production in Sweden and Finland. The group employs approximately 500 people. In Örnsköldsvik, approximately 150 people work across two factories. Örnsköldsvik plays a key role within the group, offering the market's widest range of stainless steel fittings.
Responsibilities
In this role, you will work closely with production and act as a bridge between automation, data, and operations. You are responsible for ensuring that data maintains high quality and can be used as a stable foundation for analysis, improvement work, and decision-making. A key part of the job is understanding the context behind the data and ensuring it reflects the reality of production. The role involves clear ownership of production data, where you establish structure, define standards, and ensure data maintains high quality throughout its lifecycle. You will also contribute to developing how data is structured and used within the organization.
- Ensure that data is correctly defined, understood, and usable.
- Own and manage production data, including central tags and signals from machines and processes.
- Work with databases and data platforms to ensure production data is stored, structured, and available for analysis.
- Support the business in how data can be used to create value and insights.
- Extract and structure data from PLC, SCADA, and automation systems.
- Collaborate closely with data engineers, cloud teams, and digitalization functions.
- Contribute to the development of data models and semantic models.
Who are you?
We are looking for you who have a technical interest and a background in automation or production, and who are driven by creating structure and quality in data. You have a good understanding of how data is generated in an industrial environment and how it can be used to improve processes and results. At the same time, you are curious and eager to help develop future data-driven ways of working.
As a person, you are meticulous, analytical, and communicative. You find it easy to collaborate with different functions and can explain technical connections clearly. You thrive in a role where you get to take responsibility, influence outcomes, and work both operationally and with a development focus.
