Rökeriet between Åhus & Yngsjö is located just outside Åhus, right next to the Helge Å river. The business currently consists of a restaurant, delicatessen, and catering service, featuring its own smokehouse, bakery, and production of pickled herring, cold sauces, and spreads. Since April 1, 2020, the company has been run by new owners.

We work with locally produced, fresh ingredients and uncomplicated but delicious dishes. Our menus change frequently to reflect seasonal selections. On weekdays, we serve the daily special, the fish of the week, vegetarian options, and our classics. On weekends, we offer a varied à la carte menu, with the largest selection of fish dishes, but also meat and vegetarian options. During the summer, we serve à la carte from lunch until evening (excluding the daily special). We prepare everything from scratch in our own kitchen, and bake/prepare our own cakes, breads, and desserts. We are constantly working to improve our products and expand our own production.

We have high demands for the quality and origin of our ingredients and set high standards for our suppliers; this also means we expect a high level of performance from our staff. It is an advantage if you are accustomed to change and restructuring and see excitement in occasional changes. We are driven by an innovative mindset, and the path from idea to reality is short.

We are looking for you who are a strong team player who enjoys varied and diverse work at a changing pace. The breadth of our operations is wide, involving the preparation of daily lunches, à la carte, catering, buffets, and large events, which means you must also be familiar with many different areas of work. There are great opportunities for you to develop within our team alongside good colleagues.

To be a suitable candidate, it is important that you are accustomed to a fast pace, quick decision-making, and that you are solution-oriented in all situations. For us, every visitor is important, and all guests should be treated with respect and equal value.

The duties primarily include the following tasks:

  • Prepping and preparations for lunch and à la carte.
  • Production of sauces, spreads, pies, sandwiches & salads for our shop.
  • Baking of bread & sweet breads.
  • Work in both hot and cold sections.
  • Stock picking/receiving.
  • Inventories and ordering.
  • Assisting the head chef and sous chef in planning and management.
  • Cleaning and dishwashing.
  • Customer service via telephone.

We are looking for 1 person, starting in June/July (by agreement). The position is a permanent part-time to full-time position (75-100%).

  • Work is scheduled during daytime hours (08:00-21:00) Monday-Sunday. 2 weekends/month. The schedule is provided at least two weeks before start.
  • A driver's license is not a requirement, but public transport to and from the workplace is somewhat limited.
  • Reporting to the head chef.
  • The employment begins with a probationary period.
  • References will be requested.
  • Salary according to agreement.
