A proud history and ambitious future plans. Perhaps this is why the drive to grow, change, and develop is so strong. It is also why it is so exciting to work here. With us, you become part of a flat hierarchy and innovative culture where we help each other and value each other's knowledge, differences, and experiences. The work is often varied, sometimes challenging, but always meaningful. Welcome!

Sigtuna Vatten & Renhållning AB (SIVAB) is a municipally owned company that operates and develops water and waste management services in Sigtuna Municipality.

The position is located within the Recycling Center Unit, which is responsible for the daily operations of our recycling center in Arlandastad. Our mission includes receiving, sorting, and handling the municipality's waste. We place great emphasis on sustainability, ensuring that waste arriving at our facility is primarily reused and secondarily recycled, in full alignment with the EU's waste hierarchy.

Your workday is based at the facility in Arlandastad, where you both start and end your day. Although your base is outdoors at the recycling center, you have access to our new office premises just nearby, where we have shared staff areas and hold our meetings.

We are now looking for you who want to become a key link in the chain to create a more circular and sustainable future together with us!

RESPONSIBILITIES

In the role of Environmental Worker and Sorting Coach, your most important task is to ensure that our visitors feel welcome and receive professional and friendly treatment. You are available throughout the facility to actively guide, inspire, and help both private individuals and businesses sort correctly. Through a pedagogical and service-oriented approach, you directly contribute to more waste being reused and materials recycled. At our company, the path from idea to decision is short, and you become an active part of developing our daily routines and working methods at the facility so that we can continuously improve.

The work takes place primarily outdoors. It is an active and physical role that involves keeping the facility tidy and clean to create a safe and pleasant environment. There are occasional heavy lifts, for example when handling reusable items, working with pallet jacks, or when tipping waste containers.

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

We are looking for someone who is self-assured, remains calm under pressure at the facility, and is comfortable standing up for our safety and sorting rules in a friendly but clear manner. To thrive in this role, you are highly team-oriented and see yourself as a team player who contributes to a positive atmosphere within the group.

You are both solution-oriented and result-oriented, which with us means you are driven by reducing mis-sorting and increasing reuse at our recycling center. You have a pedagogical mindset and are motivated by coaching and guiding visitors, with the goal of actively influencing and creating positive behavioral changes regarding how waste is handled. You are computer literate and use digital tools as a natural part of your daily routine to retrieve and document information. Your role includes writing and updating routines and operational instructions. Through your daily work outdoors at the facility, you are attuned to how our routines function in practice. You have the ability to gather thoughts and feedback from the work group, translate this into concrete ideas for improvement, and then raise them at our joint meetings so that we can anchor and realize new working methods together.

QUALIFICATIONS

To succeed in the role of Environmental Worker and Sorting Coach, you must have a valid B driver's license and be able to express yourself well in Swedish, both orally and in writing. This is a requirement as you communicate with and guide our visitors daily, interact with contractors, and document in our systems for safety reasons. You are also computer literate and can handle Word, Excel, and Outlook in your daily work, and you adapt easily to new digital systems.

We would appreciate and highly value if you have relevant work experience, for example from a service-oriented profession where you have worked with customer relations. It is a big plus if you have experience working in recycling, reuse, or similar areas. It is also an advantage if you have machine experience and experience operating equipment such as wheel loaders, either through practical skills or a machine operator training.
