About the Position

As a Building Inspector with us, you will play a key role in ensuring that buildings and living environments meet current requirements and contribute to a high quality of life for our residents. You will work with supervision according to the Planning and Building Act (PBL), processing applications for housing adaptation grants, and to some extent, handling building permits.

The role involves contact with property owners, contractors, the general public, and other stakeholders, where you provide guidance and create conditions for good solutions. You will also participate in our business guides, which are conducted in either Swedish or English.

Responsibilities

• Conduct supervision according to the Planning and Building Act (PBL)
• Process cases related to housing adaptation grants
• Conduct site visits, inspections, and follow-ups
• Provide advice and service to citizens, businesses, and other stakeholders
• Contribute to the development of routines and working methods
• Prepare and present cases to the committee

The work takes place on-site in Älmhult.

Qualifications

• Relevant education in construction, civil engineering, law, or equivalent, or experience deemed equivalent by the employer
• Knowledge of the Planning and Building Act (PBL) acquired through studies or work
• Very good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish and English
• Valid Category B driver's license

Experience with housing adaptation is meritorious, as is practical experience from the construction sector. You should have an interest in working with accessibility. To be suitable for the assignment, you should have a desire to work with public authority duties with the customer in focus.
