What you will do
As Lead Data Engineer, you own Vimla's data platform. Your core is technical, but your interest extends into the business and organization. You balance hands-on work with technical leadership in an environment where data drives everything from BI and analytics to future AI initiatives. Your first priority is to create a robust, scalable, and long-term sustainable technical foundation. You will become part of an open and flat culture where we help each other, share knowledge, and prioritize together.
Main responsibilities:
- Own and drive the technical development of the data platform – from ingestion and transformation to warehouse and consumption (Airflow, Python, Redshift, Tableau)
- Design, build, and improve data pipelines and data models hands-on
- Design and further develop our data architecture in AWS
- Ensure data quality, governance, lineage, testing, and monitoring across the entire platform
- Own end-to-end integrations with marketing automation platforms (currently Adobe Campaign)
- Drive CI/CD, automation, and best practices for the data domain
- Collaborate cross-functionally with product, technology, and commercial teams
- Coach and mentor the team's Data Engineers
The role does not involve people management, but requires clear technical leadership and the ability to drive work through others.
We believe you will thrive with us if you…
… are curious, structured, and proactive, with deep technical competence and the ability to switch between the big picture and details
… have strong experience in data modeling, data warehousing, and pipeline development in a modern data stack
… are comfortable with Python, SQL, Airflow, and have a good understanding of cloud-based data solutions
… have the ability to make technical decisions and drive architecture in high-complexity environments over time
… have several years of experience in data engineering or similar in a digital environment
… can communicate orally and in writing in Swedish, as this is our corporate language
Merits: experience from telecommunications or other subscription businesses, a university degree in computer science, mathematics, physics, or another quantitative field, and experience with BI tools such as Tableau.
We value your exploratory mindset, technical thinking, and ability to build robust systems higher than experience with our exact technical stack.
Our promise
This role is for you if you want real responsibility, short decision-making paths, and ownership of a complete data platform in an environment where not everything is perfect from the start, but where you have the opportunity to make a real impact.
Here, you become part of a skilled team that shares knowledge, supports each other, and drives development forward together. We value different perspectives and experiences and actively work for an inclusive environment where you can develop and get the mandate to make a difference.
Additionally, you get:
- An office for collaboration, creativity, and corporate spirit – we believe we are better together and that team spirit develops when we meet and interact personally
- A generous health and benefits package with a wellness allowance, private health insurance, "give me a break" days, occupational pension, and much more.
- Development programs to deepen your knowledge and broaden your competence
