Your future role

You will report to Operations Manager Niclas Pettersson and work together in a group with competent and engaged colleagues who will help you get into the work and the team in the best possible way.

The team you are part of consists of a shift leader and 5 other technicians, and you will also collaborate with other functions within the depot.

Your task, together with your colleagues, is to perform preventive maintenance and corrective troubleshooting of trains. The role includes assessing the traffic safety condition. You must be able to follow written instructions and carry out maintenance and commissioning according to them within the promised time.

At our depot in Gävle, we work with Regina trains, X50-X54.

The position also includes:

You need to be structured and enjoy working according to clear processes. We also believe you enjoy working against deadlines to get the trains out on time. You are good at organizing and planning your work well.

We also believe you are analytical and enjoy performing technical troubleshooting and finding solutions to problems. Furthermore, it is important that you are meticulous and have a high sense of responsibility, as work as a train technician has a direct impact on the safety and health of all passengers.

To succeed in the role:

We value passion and attitude over experience. That is why we do not expect you to have all the skills. Instead, we have listed some that we believe will help you succeed and grow in this role:

  • Education/experience or a great passion for maintenance of heavy machinery or vehicles.
  • You find it easy to communicate and collaborate with other people, but also to work independently towards set goals.
  • Experience or understanding of technical work in the aviation, industrial, or automotive industry, or similar, where repair and troubleshooting of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and digital control systems have been part of your daily life.
  • We would like you to be accustomed to replacing electrical and mechanical components according to drawings and instructions.
  • If you have good knowledge of electricity, that is a big plus.
  • Knowledge of troubleshooting and the ability to solve complex problems is an asset.
  • Familiarity with the train industry is an asset.
  • Good language skills in Swedish and English.
  • A driver's license is desirable as travel between depots may occur.

The work involves shift work.

Are you the right person to take on this challenge and want to contribute to our continued development? Then you are warmly welcome to submit your application as soon as possible. Interviews are conducted on an ongoing basis.
