Moving into Tångvalla's New School

We are creating future learning environments in new premises with Falsterbonäs's fantastic surroundings just around the corner. In August, we will inaugurate our new school where we will together create a positive environment for children, students, and staff.

We are now looking for you who want to make sure all children and students experience a school meal to remember and be happy about. Our kitchen prepares meals for approximately 150 children and educators at the preschool, as well as 400 students and educators at the school.

Here, many driven and engaged colleagues work together to challenge and stimulate the children's need for development. Meals are an important part of the day at both the preschool and the school, so your work contributes to lifelong positive values regarding food, environment, and health. We place great emphasis on collaboration with educators and students.

In addition to the opportunity to help shape the work at our new school and develop Tångvalla School's kitchen, we can offer you a positive workplace and a secure employment within Vellinge Municipality. Working hours are between 06:30–15:00, Monday–Friday.

Job Responsibilities

There is now an opportunity to work in a completely newly built school with a newly equipped kitchen where cooking is the focus.

We are looking for an experienced cook who wants to prepare delicious, nutritious, and sustainable food from scratch. You are expected to have creative ideas and an interest in giving children and students an experience in the dining hall. We cook meals and bake bread from scratch.

Tångvalla School is facing an exciting time as we move into our new school in August. You will have the opportunity to be involved in planning and launching new routines and working methods required in the new school.

You are responsible for preparing meals and special diets for children and students at both the preschool and the school, so knowledge and experience regarding special diets and hygiene regulations are important.

The Head Chef leads the work in the kitchen, but as a cook, you have an important responsibility to also handle routines for ordering, menu planning, and other administrative tasks required in the kitchen.

You work among our guests and ensure our food is well-presented. Good communication, both verbal and written, is therefore important. We work at a high pace, so you need to enjoy the rush during lunch service while maintaining a high and positive level of service.

As a cook at Tångvalla, you help awaken children's interest in flavors and ingredients, creating joy and well-being around food. You find it easy to communicate and collaborate with your colleagues in the kitchen, school management, teachers, and our children and students. It is natural for you to provide good service and put our diners at the center.

Teamwork in the kitchen is important, and together with colleagues, you perform all tasks in the kitchen, from baking and cooking to washing dishes and cleaning.

Qualifications

• Cook Training - Required
• High School Diploma or equivalent

• A few years of experience as a cook
