Finnlines is looking for chefs for our ships in Malmö!

Finnlines is currently seeking chefs to join our wonderful kitchen teams. As a ship's chef at Finnlines, you will work in a small, close-knit team where collaboration and clear communication are essential for a positive working environment.

Your role as a ship's chef involves working closely with your colleagues in a fast-paced environment, with a primary focus on ensuring passengers have an excellent dining experience. In addition to preparing buffet meals for our guests, you will also be responsible for cooking for all the crew members on board.

We place great emphasis on your knowledge of self-control measures, kitchen hygiene, daily planning, and kitchen economics. All chefs at Finnlines participate in ordering and procurement tasks. You should have completed a chef's education and have at least 3–5 years of professional experience. We value creativity, versatility in both hot and cold kitchen sections, and the ability to prepare traditional Swedish home-style cooking.

We are looking for you who are flexible and open to working both short and long periods on board. Opportunities for permanent employment exist!

Regular staff typically work two weeks on board followed by two weeks of leave. Schedules may vary for temporary positions. During your working periods, you will live on board the ship.

In the maritime industry, there is a requirement for you to hold a Ship's Chef certificate. This means you must apply for a certificate with the Swedish Transport Agency (Transportstyrelsen) using proof of your chef's education.

In addition to this, you must have:

• Full Basic Safety certificate
• HACCP certificate
• Knowledge of self-control systems
• Knowledge of kitchen economics
• Strong hygiene knowledge in a kitchen setting
• Fluency in Swedish and English (mandatory)
• Knowledge of Polish and/or German is an advantage

We prefer candidates who live in the immediate vicinity of Malmö.
