Specialist Dental Care at Hallands Hospital is embarking on an exciting development journey – and we are now looking for a Dental Manager who wants to make a real difference. You will become part of the management group and, together with managers and employees, contribute to shaping the future of specialist dental care in Region Halland. The position is full-time, with a permanent appointment in your core profession and a four-year appointment as Dental Manager, including clinical duties.

About the Workplace

Specialist Dental Care at Hallands Hospital provides high-quality specialist dental care with a strong focus on patient needs. The practice is located in Halmstad and Varberg and works closely with both general dentistry and other healthcare providers. Here, you will meet an engaged team with broad competence, where we jointly develop care, working methods, and education.

Within specialist dental care, dentists, dental hygienists, dental nurses, and administrative staff work in teams centered around the patient. Together, we create a practice characterized by quality, development, and professional interaction.

About the Work

The role involves being the first-line manager for all dentists within specialist dental care at Hallands Hospital. You report directly to the Head of Department, are part of the Specialist Dental Care management group, and are part of the clinic leadership.

As Dental Manager, you lead and distribute work within the dental team and are responsible for ensuring the right competence and staffing based on the practice's needs and economic conditions. You work closely with the two department managers and the Head of Department in both operational and strategic development matters. Clinical work is included in the position.

The role includes, among other things:

• Identifying needs and recruiting and appointing dentists
• Being responsible for induction and further education for dentists at the clinic
• Conducting and following up on systematic work environment activities for the dental team (delegated work environment responsibility)
• Conducting employee interviews, salary negotiations, and salary setting
• Contributing with dental and medical competence to the clinic leadership and, if necessary, representing the practice towards Hallands Hospital and external actors (e.g., Public Dental Service and other healthcare providers).

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have an appropriate higher education/university degree within dentistry. It is meritorious if you are a dentist with specialist competence. Education in leadership/organization is also meritorious, as is experience in personnel management, including operational and work environment responsibility.

The role requires good communication skills and good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written.

As a manager in Region Halland, you are expected to exercise clear and communicative leadership that creates engagement, participation, and security. The role requires good self-awareness and personal maturity, as well as secure and professional behavior, where feedback is utilized for continuous development. With a holistic view, different perspectives are combined into decisions that benefit the practice. A goal- and result-oriented working method with systematic planning, follow-up, and evaluation is a natural part of the assignment. Furthermore, we would like you to be development-oriented, take initiative, and actively contribute to improvements in working methods and structure.
