Founded in 1912, the company has evolved into a global player in marine technology and sustainable shipping. Production on Hönö is characterized by advanced manufacturing, strong technical competence, and close collaboration between different functions. Here, traditional craftsmanship meets modern production technology in a business with short decision paths, high team spirit, and great engagement. As a Production Manager, you will become an important part of the company's continued development journey, focusing on growth, improvement work, and creating efficient and well-functioning production.

About the Production Manager Role

As a Production Manager at Berg Propulsion, you are responsible for the daily operations within one of production's central value streams, focusing on the aftermarket. The role is operational, close to the business, and characterized by a high tempo where reprioritization and quick decisions are a natural part of everyday life. You lead a team within production and work closely with operators, planning, schedulers, and other supervisors to ensure an efficient flow with high quality and delivery precision. The role is as much about people as it is about production, with a key part being to create engagement, build trust, and get the team to work towards common goals. You will be a visible and present leader out in the operations, supporting the team in their daily work while driving structure, improvement initiatives, and resource planning forward. Production is located on Hönö in the Gothenburg archipelago with good commuting options via both bus and ferry.

Your main responsibilities:

  • Plan and lead daily production
  • Ensure correct quality and on-time delivery
  • Lead, coach, and develop employees in daily work
  • Distribute resources and staffing based on production needs
  • Handle deviations and reprioritizations in a high production tempo
  • Drive improvement work within processes, working environment, and safety
  • Work closely with planners, preparation, and other internal functions
  • Monitor production results and ensure an efficient flow
  • Responsible for development conversations and daily personnel responsibility
  • Handle purchases related to tools and production

About you

We are looking for someone motivated by being close to operations and who enjoys the combination of technology, leadership, and problem-solving. You have experience from the manufacturing industry and feel comfortable in production environments where the pace is high and conditions can change quickly.

You do not need to have had a management role previously, but we would like you to have some form of leadership experience, for example as a Team Leader, foreman, shift leader, or through another coaching role where you have had responsibility for people and collaboration.

You are a person who builds trust by being present, clear, and unpretentious in your leadership. You find it easy to communicate with different types of people and are driven by getting individuals and teams to develop together.

Furthermore, you are solution-oriented, structured, and thrive in an environment where no day is like the other.

Important for the role:

  • Experience from production or the manufacturing industry
  • Some form of leadership experience
  • Technical understanding and interest in production technology
  • Experience with CNC-controlled machines
  • Good communication skills in Swedish and English
  • Ability to create structure and engagement in a changing daily life
